Abstract
The author has analysed the actual state of pencil factory and has observed health control measures grasping health condition of workers in such a environment etc. Through the results, this paper is devoted to study health control measures in medium and small enterises including noxious ones in their works in general. The observations were as follows. 1. As it was considered that noxious works were carried out not only in the place of so-called noxious works but also in its snrroundings, it was necessary to control health of all the personnel working in the noxious places including its surroundings in medium and small enterprises. 2. As sanitary control, it was necessary to improve it in compliance with the actual condition of medium and small enterprises from the economical point of view, and the betterment should be gradually carried out in such enterprises. 3. It was very important to try to find patients as possible as early from side of persons. As it was very difficult to control sanitary conditions perfectly and there were many causes to remain for outbreak of patients, early detection of patients was more important. 4. It was admitted that surveys of subjective symptoms including the best of Cornell Medical Index and inquiry of gastroenteric diseases were effective as screening methods of patients. It was observed that the examinations of health hazards which essentially combined with noxious conditions were necessary in the place of noxious works. For example, it was necessary to carry out blood examination about every six months in the places such as in pencil factory, where benzol poisoning was possible to occur. It was recognized GB, Hb, the numbers of erythrocytes and leucocytes in blood were especially important indexes and examination of urobilinogen in urine was comparatively effective method in such enterprises.
