Evaluation and Analysis of design for life environment with a high regard for self- reliance based on the representation of a self of people with dementia

Abstract

This paper describes the evaluation of design for life environment with a high regard for self-reliance based on the representation of a self of people with dementia. We have structured care records in a care home where is pioneering efforts to support people with dementia, and constructed a model of personality expression. The personality expression tree makes it possible to see the connection of the life data and to compare and analyze the record of each facility. The result shows that the tree was possible to objectively evaluate the record of the facility, and learning with tree introduction is effective for reforming the consciousness of care practitioners toward self-reliance support.
