Generating Trailers of Novels Applying Partial Summaries and Silver Standard Summary Algorithm

Abstract

This paper proposes a method to automatically generate the trailer of novels designed for the next reading period. A long novel is usually read as being divided into several partial parts. The trailer attracts the audience in TV drama and anime. In this paper, we study introducing the idea of trailers to reading novels. We believe that the trailer lets the reader to positively read the remainder of the novel. In the proposed method, the contents in the trailer are hypothesized as the summary of the next reading period. The proposed method generates trailers as applying the silver standard summary algorithm with a partial summary of the estimated period for the next reading. We discussed the output results in the context of adequateness and entertainment.
