Until now, the framework for capturing functions in ontological AI has been proposed using artifacts as the domain. On the other hand, in developing an architecture referring to the brain, it is necessary to set functions in a way that is consistent with the physical structure of natural objects. The purpose of this study is to develop concepts for a framework to interpret pluralistic functions of purposive natural objects, with the aim of constructing a brain-inspired architecture. For this purpose, Marr’s Three Levels is reconsidered and organized for the concepts that can be agreed between developers and designers. As a result, it was pointed out that the functional and physical perspectives are explicitly undifferentiated in Marr’s Three Levels because of their substantiality, and such implicit confusion is a significant problem in software development. It is hoped that the organization of this research will lead to a set of concepts that can be agreed upon by designers and developers of brain-inspired architectures.
