Abstract

With the spread of electric vehicles, congestion at charging stations is expected. In order to improve this congestion, charging reservation systems are considered. However, we have little knowledge about the appropriateness of such systems since they have been rarely introduced. Therefore simulation-based evaluation is needed. In this paper, the authors newly introduced an EV driver's charging reservation behavior model based on expected utility. The simulation results show that the utilities of EV drivers need to be within a specific value range in order for charging reservation systems to be effective.
