Abstract

Traffic congestion is a serious problem in urban areas. Main stream is research for car navigation, but recently interest in the research for control of traffic signals is growing. In this paper, we propose an autonomous decentralized traffic signal control system that is highly adaptable and be able to change the control area flexibly. Based on the spring model proposed in the previous study, we extended the model to take into account the difference between heavy-duty vehicles and standard vehicles, and its effectiveness is demonstrated. In addition, we decentralized the model to show that the model works properly, in preparation for a demonstration experiment.
