Application of protein structure prediction AI for protein design

Abstract

Recently, the protein structure prediction AI has made great success and many unsolved structures of protein become solved. Such kind of AI is expected to be applied in various fields in the future, and protein design is one of them. In this paper, we examined the possibility of applying this AI to protein design, in the task of designing a mini protein that binds COVID-19 spike protein, which was previously developed by another group without using AI. As a result, a reliable protein structure was obtained.
