Abstract

This paper proposes a cooperative design process in game character design with AI, using three-view diagrams as intermediate representations. Game character design takes much effort, even for skilled designers. There are some works incorporating AI for efficiency and creativity in character design processes, however, there are few examples that focus on character design with game scenarios. Therefore, with game scenarios as an input, we explore and practice a character design method by collaboration between AI and humans. First, we tried a method for generating 3D models from text, and confirmed its limitations and problems. Next, we tried a character design method using a three-view map for intermediate representation, which we propose in this paper. The results suggest that the proposed method can produce a variety of outputs, is easy for humans, and could avoid copyright issues.
