Abstract

To ensure that products and services appeal to human senses and enhance their quality of life, it is crucial to comprehend the intricate relationship between behaviour and emotions and to offer empathetic value. To achieve this objective, the study used a hybrid approach that combined hypothesis building based on a literature review and qualitative interviews with a statistical causal search based on subsequent questionnaire data. Behavioural process data was collected through a questionnaire designed to investigate behavioural and emotional pathways from hypothesised individuals' experiences. Causal relationships in behavioural processes were identified through a deep learning statistical causal search model (Structural Agnostic Modelling, SAM). The analysis confirmed the hypothesized causal relationships between behaviour and emotion and also revealed new causal relationships. The findings provide a foundation for interpreting human emotional and behavioural journeys and for a better understanding of diverse human behaviour patterns. Future research will aim to further explore behavioural patterns using this integrated approach.
