Abstract
A new species of the Oriental genus Danothrips is described from Japan. Danothrips sakimori is separable from the congeners by the combination that postocular setae are uniserial without a pair medially in front of occipital carina, antennal segment IV has dorsal microtrichia, and pronotum has discal setae fewer than 10. The genus Danothrips is recorded for the first time from the Palaearctic region.
