A new species of harpacticoid copepod, Gulcamptus jesoanus, is described from Hokkaido, northern Japan. This species was previously recorded as Gulcamptus sp. S from Hokkaido by the senior author. The new species is the second species of the genus, of which the type species Gulcamptus uenoi was described from Korea.
