Thermionic work functions, activation energies of electrical conduction and photoelectric work function were measured for the caesium composite photocathode which does not contain foreign metal particles. It seems that there are two kinds of active cathodes in it, one of which is unstable, the other stable above about 80°C. The calculated photoelectric threshold according to Wilson's model is somewhat smaller than the observed one given by Fowler's plot as it is expected
