The effect of the electric field on the X-ray intensities reflected from some net planes of the Rochelle salt was studied by using the double crystal ionization spectrometer. As a result, an intensity change with field could actually be detected It was concluded that this change can be explained as due to the variation of tie secondary structure of the crystal by the field, but cannot be ascribed to any change in the structure factor
