Abstract
In this study, I focus on the land use control method by land use planning stage focused on sediment disaster risk to make a master plan for city planning and city expansion plan in Brazil that it was built through technical cooperation of Japan. I aim to clarify the features and problems of the method. And, through this technical cooperation, it is aimed to obtain suggestions on effective measures for future technical cooperation of Japan. Results shows the following: (1) the land use control method by land use planning stage focused on sediment disaster risk has several merits and high versatility was clarified; (2) through evaluation of the disaster prevention project and urban planning manual including its method by the municipal government, several problems to be solved for these ensure effectiveness and enhance content was revealed; (3) upon implementation of technical cooperation, the matter to be addressed by Japan was clarified.
