The sol-gel method is recently used to prepare Mo-Alumina hydrotreating catalysts modified by phosphorus. This procedure has significant advantages by references to classical catalyst preparation; namely it permits to develop better catalytic activity. The aim of the present study is to optimize the preparation of P-oxo-Alumina solids by controlling their textural properties. It has been observed that, the specific surface area and the porosity depend greatly of the step of introduction in the sol-gel procedure of the phosphorus and of its amount.
