Reactive PNP-16-crown-6 (I) has been converted into various ligand derivatives of lariat ether, cryptand, bis-cryptand and cyclam-type by sodium cation- or amino-assisted substitution of 2÷4 chloride functions in I with the respective mono- or dinucleophiles, like sodium mono-and bis-arylates and aliphatic mono-and diamines.
