Synthetic whitlockite was prepared by adding the solution in presence of Ca2+ ion and Mg2+ ion into the mixed solution of KOH (or NaOH) and H3PO4 at synthetic temperatures of 37~95°C. The synthetic Mg-containing whitlockite was formed in the pH regions from a weak acidic pH to a neutral pH. The composition of synthetic whitlockite contained a slight alkali metal ion of Na+ ion or K+ ion and water of crystallization of about 7%, and Ca-deficiency was replaced by H+ ion and Na+ ion or K+ ion in the whitlockite. Only when Mn2+, Fe2+, Co2+ or Ni2+ ion was used in the place of Mg2+ ion, further, the each bivalent metal-containing whitlockites were formed.
