Abstract
Microporous glass-ceramics with the surface phase of AgTi2(PO4)3 crystal and the interior phase of LiTi2(PO4)3 crystal were prepared by exchange of Ag+ ions for Li+ ions. The mean pore diameter and specific surface area are 150 nm and 10 m2/g, respectively. The glass-ceramics showed excellent bacteriostatic properties. The amount of Ag+ ions released from the materials into the phosphate buffer solution is extremely small.
