Abstract
This study proposes a new Construction Waste Management System (CWMS) for the promotion of appropriate management of construction waste and its demolition materials. CWMS mainly consists of two parts; the Electronic Manifest System (EMS) for the construction waste, instead of the conventional paper manifest system, and the Vehicle Tracking System (VTS), based on the global positioning system (GPS). VTS, tightly combining with EMS, could easily pursuit the construction waste from a generation point to a treatment and/or disposal site. This paper describes the principle of CWMS and proposes some improvements of actual manifest system, such as weight control by activation of the load scale facility, already installed in each dump car.
