Abstract
A source process for the 2003 Tokachi-oki earthquake is estimated using the technique developed by the authors. The technique estimates the relative contribution ratio of acceleration power from elemental sources on the fault plane. In the analysis, the two horizontal components acceleration recorded under the ground at the 20 KiK-net stations were applied. These records were converted to those for rock surface ground motion on the basis of the response analysis code ‘FDEL’. The estimated distribution of the asperity on the fault plane in this analysis was compared with those by other studies, and they were comparatively agreed with.
