Abstract
The immediate reduction of CO2 emission by any sectors in any nations is strictly required. So, citizens should consider about reduction of direct and indirect CO2 emission derived from activities in daily life. Eco-keeping book system was proposed in 1980s and some types of book have been developed by some Coop and administrative organizations. In this study, short term investigation using the Eco-keeping book distributed by Japan EPA were executed. This investigation was executed during a month, and respondents checked their energy consumption and recycle of wrapping & vessels in their weekly life and they filled in a weekly form in Eco-keeping book. After this investigation, some respondents will continue to fill in the form during a year. And questionnaire survey were executed for estimation of effectiveness and availability of this Eco-keeping book system. Results of these investigations show CO2 emission is evaluated to be reduced by short term using of Eco-keeping book, but very few respondents continue to use this Eco-keeping book after this investigation. The difficulty promotion of environmentally sound actions includes the difficulty on the continuity of consciousness and action for environmental dependence. Some additional system such as Eco-audit will be required to support the promotion of environmentally sound actions to citizens.
