In general, the motions and mooring forces of floating structure are evaluated on the assumption that the structure is rigid. But, on a slender structure, such as a floating bridge, the effect of its elasticity can be neglected no longer.
This paper describes the computational analysis method to calculate motions, mooring forces, deformations and working stresses of floating bridge. As the results of the calculation for a model bridge by several methods, one is our analytical method and others are conventional ones, it is proved that the effect of structural elasticity must be taken into account properly.
