Several type of breakwaters for wave dissipation, a decrease of wave overtopping, an improvement of stability, and a function of water exchange have been developed. Recently, the development for the decrease of constructioncosts has been important. Therefore, the authors developed a new type of breakwater. This breakwater consists ofsteel-frames, concrete plates, and a capping.
In this paper, through the experiments of this breakwater using a 1/50 model, we proved the stability and definedthe uplift pressure acting on the capping by diffracted waves.
