Five specimens of the Middle to Upper Permian ammonoids, Stacheoceras otomoi, sp. nov., S. sp. and Timorites intermedium (Wanner) are described from the Ogatsu, Utatsu and Okago districts in the Southern Kitakami Massif. Stacheoceras sp. from the Okago district occupies the highest stratigraphic horizon of the genus in Japan. Timorites from the Utatsu district is associated with the Dzhulfian ammonoids. Thus the genus Timorites ranges upward to the Dzhulfian, in Japan.
