Abstract
In order to clarify the turning condition for micro–parts, we have performed high–speed cutting of aluminum alloy, free machining brass and drill rod. In the experiment, surface roughness Ra in feed direction has improved remarkably by increasing rotating speed. Moreover, cutting force decreased by reduction in area of chip section, and the surface roughness has improved. It became clear that high speed cutting and reduction of area of chip section are effective in obtaining high quality micro–parts.
