Abstract
Photothermal effect materials are deformed by irradiation from remote light source. Drive of small size object is attempted by transforming deformation of the material to rotational motion in this study. Two types of mechanism are applied to obtain the rotational motion in a fixed direction. One is the application of friction drive and slippage and the other is idle gear. Fiber and coil form shape memory alloy are tested as the photothermal materials, which are contracted by the irradiation of a halogen lamp. The rotational driving motions are confirmed by the presented methods.
