Abstract
This paper deals with an automatic scraping machine with image recognition system for bearings of surface plate. The automatic scraping machine consists of a large size XYZ stage for machining, a scraper and a CCD camera. After manually painting the bearings with red rouge, the image processing system with a colored CCD camera recognizes the bearings from the surface image. By using the red and blue paint, the image contrast was given, and recognition for the bearing plane became easy. In the Discriminant criteria thresholding, in comparison with the P tile method, the binary image with lower noise was obtained. In the intensity correction method by gray level of the every block, there were though small noise, and It was easy to recognize the bearing plane.
