Abstract
We deal with finishing in the curved surface of hardening steel (SKD11,etc…) with (Al,Ti) N coated Ball-Nosed End Mill. We made two kinds of Cutter Location such as scanning line cutting and contour line cutting for the finishing in the curved surface of the hardening steel. We examined the work surface roughness and the tool wear-out. Case of the scanning line cutting, irregular luster (stripes pattern) peculiar to the surface of the cutting work was caused. And we proposed a new estimating method to elucidate the factors of the peculiar striped pattern which was able to be judged only from man′s sight in the machined surface.
