Abstract
The purpose of this research work is to produce micro part reinforced by unidirectional wood fibers by laser photolithography. It is expected that the affinity between the wood fibers and the liquid photopolymer is better than that with ceramic or metallic fibers. Wood fiber is not ferromagnetic material. Therefore, Fe2O3 is added to the surface of the wood fibers and it becomes ferromagnetic material. The wood fibers with Fe2O3 are added to the liquid photopolymer. By applying magnetic field to the mixture, the axis of the wood fibers in the liquid polymer is aligned along the direction of the magnetic field. Then, the polymer is solidified by the irradiation of UV laser. As result, the wood fibers in the liquid polymer can be aligned. Micro part reinforced by the wood fibers is produced by this method.
