Abstract
In this paper, a measurement system for the straightness of a long precision tool, which is used to fabricate plastic flat films is described. To measure the straightness of the tool, it is necessary to construct an accurate scanning reference in the manufacturing process. The precision measurement system for the long tool is based on the reversal method. Measurement experiments have been conducted in the manufacturing line. The measurement results indicate that the scanning error of the stage can be measured with a repeatability of less than 1 μm over a length of 8 m.
