Abstract
This paper describes the development of a design review (DR) support system with a design intention model to shorten product development period. Inexperienced designers tend to make deficiencies due to their poor design examination knowledge. The model represents a system of design examination knowledge, which skilled designers have. A user can search design examination items for functional specifications or parts data on the DR support system and output the search result with comments. The designer can list design examination items in early phase of design process to avoid design deficiencies that derived from leak of design examination. From our numerical study, troubles that happen in design phase are decreased by 52%.
