Abstract
In order to extend operating life of artificial hip joint, form accuracy and etc. of the artificial head made of Co-Cr-Mo alloy should be improved. In this paper, to clear this need, new finishing process of Co-Cr-Mo alloy for artificial head have been proposed. In this process, at first, artificial head could be machined by the ultra-precision lathe. Then, the machined surface of it could be finished by the electron beam irradiation. Consequently, without degrading the form accuracy, this process could achieve 0.7um in it against 2〜3um in conventional way.
