Abstract
To realize a safety, high accuracy and human-friendly machining system, a precise simulation in a virtual machining system and adaptive control for a real machining system are key components. To simulate the machining process precisely and to control the motion of machine tools adaptively, it is necessary to represent detailed machining information, such as shape of machine tools and other properties of them. However, the existing machining information models lack some necessary information in their own formats. Consequently, many models including same information are existed, and a simulation in virtual machining system and adaptive control for real machining system are insufficient. To solve these problems, Digital Machining Information (DMI) model to support for real-virtual machining system is proposed in this study.
