Abstract
In the field of ultrasonic vibration cutting, several studies demonstrate the advantages compared with conventional cutting, such as reduction of cutting force, improvement of the machined surface quality and reduction of tool wear, and so on. However, there are few reports to reveal the mechanism of ultrasonic vibration cutting. In this paper, experiments of ultrasonic assisted cutting are carried out. Behaviors of the ultrasonic vibration cutting are filmed with picturing system which synchronizes with the ultrasonic vibration. Influences of cutting parameters on cutting behavior are investigated.
