Abstract
Recently, though the polishing technology has been automated, there are many cases in which the die finishing is carried out in the manual operation. In such background, magnetic field assisted machining method is noticed as a method using the flexible particle brush, and it is expected that the application to the finishing of the surface with minute ruggedness. The purpose of this study is the surface finishing of the comparatively wide surface with minute ruggedness. In this study, plane magnetic polishing was carried out as a basic research for the finishing of the surface with minute ruggedness. Then, the effect of the feed condition in the polishing characteristics and processing mechanism was examined in detail.
