Abstract
The single-layered diamond wheel with suitable abrasive grain positions can improve the removal rate and the wheel life. The purpose of study is to develop the control technique of diamond grain positions on the wheel surface. We propose the setting method of diamond grains, in which grains with a constant pitch on a plane move onto the surface of wheel base using on electrostatic force. We investigated the effects of applied voltage or gap on the setting accuracy of grain by fundamental tests putting diamond grains onto the base plane with constant pitches.
