Abstract

Now, extracorporeal circulation is performed as a treatment of severe cardiac hypofunction. However, extracorporeal circulation with artificial heart lung apparatus cannot output pulsatile flow that heart makes it intrinsically. In this research, we suggest a system that keeping pulsatile flow when a pulsatile flow-generating circulatory-assist device is used in extracorporeal circulation. This report refers to the developed monitoring system that is able to display control conditions, electrocardiogram and parameters from the pulsatile flow-generating circulatory assist device.
