Abstract
The single-layered metal-bonded diamond wheel is suitable for grinding of elastic and plastic materials. The single-layered metal-bonded diamond wheel with suitable abrasive grain positions can improve the removal rate and the wheel life. The purpose of study is to develop the control technique of positioning diamond grains on the wheel surface. In a previous study, we proposed the adhering method of abrasive grains arrayed on an electrode plate to a base plate using electrostatic force. In this study, flying characteristics of electrostatic charged grains are analyzed by observations with a high speed camera and simulation of flight tracks of grains are carried out.
