Abstract
In recent years, aesthetic design based on consumer preferences is strongly demanded with the growing maturity of product functions. The objective of this study is to propose a design creation method which can identify various consumer needs and create ideas based on consumer needs and designer intention at an early stage in the design process. Genetic algorithm (GA) and Rough Set are used to expose consumer preference rules. Multiple design solutions are automatically generated by reflecting the consumer preference rules to a design solution created by a designer.
