Abstract
Since it is becoming difficult to make product differentiation from the view point of function and quality according to improvement of manufacturing technology, it is strongly demanded to realize product design reflecting customer preference for product differentiation. In this study, a method to analyze design impression based on positioning and coloring of design elements is proposed. A basic system based on the proposed method is developed to evaluate the effectiveness of it. The system was applied to design of a portable music player and its effectiveness was confirmed.
