Abstract
In the advanced scientific research area, there is a demand for actuator which can operate at cryo temperature. In this study, a cryo ultrasonic motor using a bolt-clamped Langevin-type transducer (BLT) has been fabricated and evaluated. The effect of the pre-load of the BLT at cryo temperature has been estimated by using finite element method, and BLT has been designed. The effect of contact pressure between the rotor and the transducer under a cryo temperature condition has been evaluated experimentally. Additionally, we have succeeded in driving the motor in a helium gas at 4.5K.
