Abstract
The metal bond diamond grinding wheel is very capable of precise grinding of ceramic material for its high wear resistance and profile persistance, but it also suffers from the difficulty of dressing. One of the most successful in-process dressing technologies was ELID. However, the mechanism of ELID still remains unclear. Simulation experiments using a ball-on-disk test rig in conjunction with electrolyzing were conducted. Experimental results showing some insight of ELID were obtained.
