Abstract
This paper describes the influence of electrolyzed reducing water on the surface of optical glass. First, we threw light on the etching characteristic of electrolyzed reducing water on the surface of optical glass by the comparative immersion experiments with NaCl electrolyzed reducing water and NaOH solution. The results show that as for the etching effects on optical glass, NaCl electrolyzed reducing water is same as the NaOH solution and becomes minute. Next, we threw light on the influence of NaCl electrolyzed reducing water on the surface shape, chemical composition and chemical bonding of the surface of optical glass, by the observation using the AFM image and the result of ESCA. The results indicated that NaCl electrolyzed reducing water did not have a influence on the surface shape, chemical composition and chemical vonding of optical glass. By the wash experiment, the effectivity of electrolyzed reducing water in case of grinding material particulate removal wash was verified.
