Abstract
We are developing high performance metal-bonded diamond blades with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) which have high mechanical strength and high thermal conductivity. Ni-based CNT composites with various amounts of CNTs were prepared, and The wear resistance and friction coefficients of these materials to fused silica were evaluated. The wear, breakage and fall off of diamond grains on Metal-bonded diamond blade with carbon nanotubes were observed. These experiments were performed by a ball-on-disk tribometer.
