Abstract
Cerium oxide (ceria) is a suitable material for glass polishing because it has a high chemical reactivity and an applicable hardness for glasses. We focused on nano-dispersion abrasives containing both materials that specialize in a chemical reactivity with glass and a high mechanical property. In this study, we investigated glass polishing properties using SrZrO3-based nano-composite ceria-free abrasive. The glass removal rate was relatively high and the smooth surface of polished glass was obtained using the nano-composite abrasive.
