Abstract
In recent years, in conjunction with the spread and improvement of the performance of industrial X-ray CT scanners, a demand to achieve accurate surface reconstruction of measured objects is increasing. However, it is still impossible to reconstruct the shape of measured objects made of metals with high accuracy due to unsufficient transmittion rate of X-ray through objects. This paper proposes a novel method which reuses X-ray projection images (sinogram) to improve the accuracy of the reconstructed shape by correcting the CT values, which is done by fitting silhouette-lines of the mesh to the sinogram. Reusing the sinogram has potential application to improvement of the reconstructed mesh accuracy.
