Abstract
Weld lines are a type of molding defect in polymer injection mold which deteriorates the external view of molded products. In a previous report, the authors confirmed that the V-shaped grooves of weld lines can be reduced by using electromagnetic induction heating and cooling mold with built-in coils. In this report, the authors reviewed the effects of discharging outside organic gas generated from melt inside the mold cavity on the characteristics of molded products, and confirmed that gas burns on molded products can be prevented by discharging gas.
