Abstract
Generation of striation in laser cutting was studied. In spite of having been a serious subject of laser cutting, a detailed physical description of this problem has not been revealed for a long time. The main reasons are the phenomenon of very fast laser cutting and the kerf width is extremely narrow, the correct observation of cutting front was very difficult. The experiment fully prepared by us for this solution was conducted. By high-resolution high speed video camera makes good observation and by the precise simulation, these phenomena were able to explain it in detail. As a result, it became clear that it was a phenomenon separated periodically that accumulated certain amount of the molten metal which flowed out of the cutting front exfoliates by the assist jet-gas under the gas blow area.
