Abstract
Ductile mode cutting processes of a quartz glass plate were simulated by using a commercial FEM software for quantative evaluation of tool wear. Flow stress parameters were determined based on hardness test data. Cutting process, when the depth of cut was less than 100 nm and the cutting speed was very slow, was simulated.
