Abstract
Soft actuators, in particular polymer actuators, are paid a great deal of attention for cooperation work with robots and humans. A new contraction phenomenon was reported in 2014. When coiled nylon mono-filament was heated, it was contracted. In this paper, a new heating method is proposed. In the proposed method, nichrome wire and glass sleeve is used. The proposed method does not lose characteristics of soft actuator. And the properties of the actuator is studied.
